The big news in vertical search this week was a white paper released by Slack Barshinger and SearchChannel, which projects that revenue from b-to-b vertical search engines will reach $1 billion by 2009.
In other news:
- Oodle rolled out it's new Personals search service
- GenieKnows.com launched its Vertical Search Engine
- Roger Ehrenberg talks about Domain Expertise being the key to next-generation search
- Here is an interview with Trulia co-founder, Pete Flint
Vertical search, to attain widespread adoption, must demonstrate that it is a better source for relevant information.
Give users more of what they want (relevant search results) and less of what they don't want (mediocre, irrelevant search results)!
